Hawks for Heroes Raise $6,000

Colleen Casey
Led by senior John Conroy ’16, five Xaverian Brothers High School students participated in the Red Sox Foundation’s Run to Home Base this past weekend.

The "Hawks for Heroes" team consisted of Conroy along with Eric Winn '17, Brendan Donaghey '17, Mike Fitzgibbons '18, Mike Cahill '18 and Sean Ross '18.

The 2016 Run to Home Base honored heroic veterans and helped raise much-needed funds for Home Base. Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program, is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for Service Members, Post-9/11 Veterans and their Families through clinical care, wellness, education and research.

The Run is a unique 9k run through scenic Boston ending with the unforgettable experience of finishing the race by crossing home plate at historic Fenway Park.

Xaverian’s Hawks for Heroes team was able to raise $6,000 to help fund the clinical care provided to veterans and their families.
