Theresa Jay joined Xaverian as the Director of Technology in 2004-2005 school year and brings a solid background in education and technology. Before joining Xaverian, Ms. Jay was the Director of Educational Telecommunications Technology for the Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, Massachusetts. Prior to that she was an electronics instructor at the Minuteman Science-Tech High School in Lexington, Massachustts. Ms. Jay also was a Binary Optics Process Engineer for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Laboratory in. Ms. Jay earned an undergraduate degree in Biology at Stonehill College and another undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Boston University. She earned her Master’s of Education at UMass-Boston. Ms. Jay is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, Massachusetts Computer Using Educators, Society of Professional International Engineers, LinkedIn and the International Society for Technology in Education.
Theresa enjoys designing clever ways to integrate technology into the curriculum. She designed and built a digital language lab and started and Internet radio station for Xaverian. Theresa is currently overseeing tech integration into all the classrooms at Xaverian. Theresa has presented at workshops on Modern Language Web Tools and WHKS: Internet Radio at the MassCue and EdAccess conferences. She has published “Modern Language Instruction in the web 2.0 World” in OnCue Spring 2008. Theresa presented "Creating On-line Collaborative Learning Environments" at the Superintendents Leadership Conference October 2008. In Spring 2009 Theresa presented 21st Century Learning at the XBSS Annual Meeting and the Boston Archdiocese Principal's Meeting.
