XLI #42

More than 100 members of the Class of 2019 spent the week of July 27 growing in fellowship and honing their skills as servant leaders.
The 42nd Xaverian Leadership Institute (XLI), a five-day servant leadership retreat for rising seniors, took place at Stonehill College. The retreat is coordinated by the campus ministry team and staffed by members of the faculty, administration, and alumni of Xaverian Brothers High School. XLI is grounded in the Roman Catholic tradition and rooted in the mission of the Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools. XLI seeks to facilitate personal and communal reflection on the students’ primary relationships with God, self, and others. As a leadership institute, seniors are challenged and empowered within their personal faith tradition to become servant leaders for the Xaverian community and beyond. Through formal presentations, experiential exercises, small group discussions, and prayer experiences, students were empowered to serve others as they discover their God-given gifts and talents. It is hoped the participants’ example will enhance the greater community’s commitment to fulfill the Gospel’s mandate of service to others.
