    DESCRIPTION:
    Xaverian Brothers High School is a Catholic college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1963. The school enrolls approximately 965 day students in grades 7-12 from over 60 communities in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

    GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
    The assistant to the director of strategic communications will report to the director of strategic communications and will provide support to the offices of advancement, admissions, technology, and student life. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Coordinate media requests and follow up as needed, while serving as the secondary media contact
    • Write and publish website and email newsletter content
    • Maintain the school’s social media accounts, including content creation and curation (includes Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Flickr)
    • Special event photography
    • Copyediting
    • Graphic design
    • Maintenance of on-campus electronic display boards
    • Promotional video creation
    • Assist with marketing plan, coordinating media buys and placements and ensuring that ad dates are met
    • Serve on the Communications Committee and the Website Oversight Committee
    • Assist with other external and internal communications duties as needed
      
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or PR with prior communications experience
    • The successful candidate must have excellent communication, analytical, and computer skills, and the ability to handle tasks simultaneously, as well as strong people skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Drive, Adobe suite, Final Cut Pro or similar product, and experience with CMS preferred
    • Experience working with Blackbaud products, including Raiser’s Edge and the “On” suite is a plus
    • Previous experience capturing and analyzing website and social media insights and analytics preferred
    • Occasional night and weekend work required
