Individual Identity

The Francis Xavier Division exists to support each student as he discovers his place in the world, helping him understand that he is created in the image of a loving God. Though gifted with different talents and abilities, each student will be challenged to give his best effort and to respect the differences of others. A student of the Francis Xavier Division is expected to understand the importance of faith, service, self control, perseverance, empathy and personal responsibility. A student will also develop a sense of personal expression and creativity, and understand and build healthy relationships.

Academic Excellence

The Francis Xavier Division will nurture a full course of study that prepares each student to be an active participant as he learns to master the skills and acquire the knowledge needed for a successful transition to high school. A student of the Francis Xavier Division is expected to develop an ability to think critically and understand the importance of organization and time management. A student will also learn to read with appreciation and understanding, develop writing and communication skills, embrace different learning styles, analyze sources and perform basic research, and integrate study skills.

Global Connectedness

The Francis Xavier Division will help each student develop a sense of social awareness and social justice. Each student will be encouraged to share his unique gifts with others and begin to understand his connection to a larger community. A student of the Francis Xavier Division is expected to value the interconnectedness among various peoples of the world, respect diversity, recognize the benefits of competition and teamwork and its value in today’s world, understand the benefits and pitfalls of technology and digital content, and participate in service opportunities as an expression of faith.
