MEET OUR NEWEST ADMINISTRATOR

A message from Dr. Conca and Mr. Nicholson on some exciting leadership changes.

Dear Xaverian families,

As you may have heard, our Assistant Headmaster for Advancement, Mr. Larry Furey, P ’21, has decided to step down from his role and will now serve Xaverian as an advancement consultant. Mr. Furey has served the Xaverian community since 1995. During his 25-year relationship with our school, he was instrumental in the success of the school’s first capital campaign, A Legacy of Values, which raised $12.1 million, along with the school’s most recent capital campaign, Called to Lead, which exceeded its goal and raised $25.1 million. During his tenure, the advancement team raised more than $45,000,000 to support Xaverian. Mr. Furey will continue leading his successful consulting company, Partners in Mission, while serving as a full time consultant to Xaverian.

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Christopher Vasta ’00 will succeed Mr. Furey as head of the advancement team. Effective July 1, Mr. Vasta will be Xaverian’s Chief Administrator for School Advancement. Many of you are familiar with Mr. Vasta as a teacher, campus minister, former Assistant Principal for Student Life, and most recently, as our Assistant Principal for Academics, Grades 9-12. We are blessed to have someone with such passion for our mission who is eager and ready to lead our philanthropic efforts. This transition and restructure of the advancement team comes at an important time in our school’s history, and it will provide Xavierian with the resources necessary for continued growth and strength in the years to come. Congratulations to Mr. Vasta on his new role!

Lastly, this brings us to our new Assistant Principal for Academics, Grades 9-12. Please join us in welcoming a talented educator and leader, Ms. Lauren Hill. Ms. Hill comes to Xaverian from Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury, a fellow Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School. There she served as an English teacher, class dean, summer programs director, and co-chair of the professional development committee. Additionally, she was influential in the process wherein St. John’s launched a middle school program, serving as co-chair of the ad hoc subcommittee on educational model.

Ms. Hill holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from Manhattan College and a Master of School Leadership in Secondary Education from Worcester State. Her appreciation for the Xaverian mission is handed down from her father, the late John Francis Hill, a graduate of Saint John’s, Shrewsbury. Of her new position, she notes, “I can't help but think how proud he would be to know that I've finally achieved my goal of becoming an administrator in the network of schools that he loved so much.”

Having worked with Ms. Hill previously, we feel she is the perfect fit for this position and will be a positive addition to our administrative team. Welcome, Lauren!

Respectfully yours,
