XAVERIAN TAKES THIRD IN 2021 STOCK MARKET CHALLENGE

The Business Club performed well in the 2021 Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge.

Competing against a number of other schools, the business program took third place in this year's Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, held virtually this past December. The five man team of Emmett ’24, Hunter ’24, Nate ’23, Will ’23, and John ’22 placed third. All told, 23 Xaverian students competed in the event against six other schools.

Normally held on State Street, the event had a slightly different flavor this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the competition just was fierce and the lessons learned worthwhile. Club moderator, Mr. White, was grateful that the team was able to compete. "Taking part in Stock Market Challenge is always one of the highlights of the year for students in the Business Club. While the event looked different this year, I was grateful that students were still able to learn about the basics of the stock market and participate in the virtual competition. We had a record number of students participate in the event and it was a great learning experience. A big thanks to Junior Achievement for continuing to provide such great opportunities for our students and a special thanks to our club leaders, Bryce ’21 and John ’22 for their great leadership."

Well done, boys!
