XAVERIAN FATHER-SON DUO WINS CANTON ESSAY CONTEST

Lucien ’91 and Emile Brodeur ’27 submitted separate entries into the "Canton Writes" essay contest, winning both categories!

The "Canton Writes" essay contest, operated through the Town of Canton's library, has been taking place for more than a decade. This year, father-son duo Lucien and Emile Brodeur entered stories of their own. Mr. Lucien Brodeur, P ’27 is a Xaverian English teacher. Emile is joining the Hawks as a grade 7 student in September. Competing in different categories, the pair was pleasantly surprised to receive notices that both of their entries had been selected as winners. Lucien's story, For the Love of Apples, took home the victory in the adult nonfiction category, while Emile won the middle school student category with his story, The Mirror.

You can read Lucien's reflection about his hesitance and ultimate acceptance of the new family dog here. For Emile's Twilight Zone-esque short story, click here. Congratulations to both Hawks on their accomplishments. We cannot wait to welcome Emile into the building this September!
