Xaverian Golf Takes Home D1 State Championship

Xaverian's golf team ends its season with a perfect record.

Xaverian’s varsity golf team wrapped up an incredible undefeated season by capturing the Division 1 State Championship at The Ridge Club in Sandwich on October 21. Under the steady leadership of Coach Gerry Lambert ’88, the Hawks added a sixth state title (1992, 1993, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2025) to the program’s storied history, its first in several years after a series of near-miss finishes.

The victory capped a dominant 16–0 season for the Hawks, who also earned titles as Division 1 South Sectional Champions, Sacconnesset Showcase Champions, and Catholic Conference Champions, along with a second-place finish at the Cape Cod National Championships. In addition to the team title, sophomore Christopher Morrow took home the Division 1 individual state championship in dramatic fashion after sinking a par putt on No. 1 to break a deadlock with Longmeadow’s Connor Henrey and Arlington’s Owen Shea in the final round.

“This group has shown remarkable consistency, focus, and camaraderie all season long,” said Xaverian Athletic Director Ted Currle. “To go undefeated and then finish as state champions is a testament not only to their talent but to the culture of hard work and accountability that Coach Lambert and our student-athletes have built together.”
