Xaverian Students Perform at Senior District Music Festival

Written by Communications Corps member, Harry Lydon ’27

Congratulations to Micahel '26, Cooper '27, and Anthony '28!

Three members of the Xaverian community were invited to participate in the MMEA Senior District Music Festival at Milton High School on January 9-10. Michael Clark ’26, Cooper Marino ’27, and Anthony Clark ’28 began their experience on Friday with a full-day rehearsal. They were tasked with practicing and perfecting five pieces of music for a performance the following day. “It was genuinely a beautiful thing how a room of 100 people who had never sung together before could make such beautiful music in a short time,” said Cooper.

On Saturday, January 11, they got the chance to perform on stage alongside 150 students from schools in the surrounding area. “Representing our school at the district level was an honor,” Michael said. Anthony found it to be an opportunity to learn more about himself as a musician. “I enjoyed this event a lot because it brought about new experiences singing with new people and on a larger scale,” he said. “It was a great learning experience being able to work with a new conductor, to take in his knowledge and musical style, all of which helped me to become a better musician.”
