The Hawks earn their second consecutive MIAA Division 1 State Championship.
Xaverian’s varsity golf team has once again reached the summit of Massachusetts high school golf, winning its second consecutive MIAA Division 1 State Championship on October 26. The Hawks also celebrated an individual state championship from Chris Morrow ’28, who successfully defended his title.
Competing against 12 other schools and nearly 100 golfers, Xaverian delivered a team score of 298, finishing 11 strokes ahead of runner-up St. John’s Prep. The victory capped another outstanding season for the Hawks and earned them their seventh state title.
The team victory was fueled by strong performances throughout the lineup, led by Morrow and Michael McCormack ’27, who each had an even-par round of 71. In a remarkable repeat of last year’s championship, the team rose to the occasion. Xaverian finished the 2026 season with a 14-2 record, demonstrating the consistency and competitive focus that have become hallmarks of the program.
"The team is blessed with amazing talent, obviously. But what makes them special players is how mentally tough they all are,” said Head Coach Gerry Lambert ’88. “To play a five-hour round where every shot carries such weight, and to have them so consistently rise to the challenge, speaks to their singular ability to maintain their poise and focus. It is truly humbling to witness."
Congratulations to Coach Lambert and the entire Xaverian golf team on another outstanding season and a championship finish!
