Varsity Golf Continues Historic Run
Varsity golf has kicked off their 2026 season!
The Xaverian varsity golf team is off to a remarkable start, extending its winning streak to 29 consecutive dual matches and improving to 9-0 on the season.
The Hawks opened the week with a 210-239 victory over Catholic Memorial, highlighted by a 4-under-par round of 31 from Michael McCormack ’27. Xaverian followed with a 223-259 win over Malden Catholic, where Luke Edgar ’28 led the team with a 2-under-par round of 34.
The Hawks then faced one of their closest challenges of the week against Braintree. In a hard fought match, Xaverian came away with a 231-234 victory, with McCormack and Chris Morrow ’28 each shooting 1-under-par 35 to lead the way. The team closed the week by defeating Catholic Memorial for the second time, 224-242, behind Morrow’s 1-under-par round of 34.
The week’s biggest accomplishment, however, came at the Cape Cod National High School Invitational, where Xaverian’s top four golfers captured the team championship by an impressive 10-stroke margin while setting a new tournament scoring record. McCormack added another milestone, claiming the individual championship with a tournament-record 5-under-par round of 67.
The combination of team victories and record-setting performances made for a memorable stretch for the Hawks, who continue to establish themselves among the area’s top high school golf programs. Xaverian’s will look to build on their strong start as the season continues.
