Six Xaverian Seniors Receive National Merit Honors

Well deserved recognition for six students!

Six members of Xaverian’s Class of 2027 are being recognized for their outstanding academic performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Peter Blood ’27 has been named a National Merit Semifinalist, a prestigious recognition based on his outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. As a National Merit Semifinalist, he is among a select group of students nationwide recognized for exceptional academic ability and achievement. Of the more than 1.5 million students who enter the competition each year, fewer than one percent are named Semifinalists.

In addition to Blood’s Semifinalist recognition, five other members of the Class of 2027 have received Letters of Commendation through the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students also earned the distinction based on their strong performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.

“We are incredibly proud to recognize our students in the National Merit Scholarship Program,” said Principal Dr. Michael Nicholson, P ’29. “This distinction reflects their dedication to their academic achievements and the perseverance it took to get there. Their commitment to excellence not only sets them apart as scholars, but also serves as an inspiring example for their classmates and the entire Xaverian community.”

Together, these six students represent the academic excellence and intellectual curiosity that are hallmarks of the Xaverian community. Congratulations to the five commended students and our semifinalist on these amazing achievements!
