Paul Bimmler Named Xaverian’s Varsity Swim and Dive Coach

Welcome, Coach Bimmler!

Xaverian is excited to announce that Paul Bimmler has been named the new varsity swim and dive team coach. Bimmler was a highly decorated athlete at his alma mater, Austin Preparatory High School, where he was named Boston Globe Division 2 swimmer of the year and was enshrined in the school’s Hall of Fame. He continued his athletic swimming career at Fairfield University where he was an ECAC qualifier all four seasons with the Stags. He graduated with nine of 10 possible relay records and finished in the top 15 in the sprint freestyle and backstroke events each season at the MAAC Championships.

He entered the coaching arena as a graduate assistant coach for Fairfield University. After earning his graduate degree, he worked as a club swim coach with the Andover/North Andover YMCA until 2018 when he was named the Head Swim and Dive Coach for Ursuline Academy. That very same year, Bimmler was named the Boston Globe Coach of the Year for the Division 2 team. Xaverian’s Athletic Director, Ted Currle is thrilled to have Bimmler join the Xaverian coaching lineup. “We are extremely excited to have Coach Bimmler as our swim and dive coach! His experience and success at Ursuline Academy as a teacher and a coach, as well as his college swimming background, made him a great choice.” Currle says that he is looking forward to working with Paul for many years to come.
