Hands-on Learning Takes Center Stage

Why learn from a lecture when you can learn from doing? Classes at Xaverian are interactive, hands-on, and frankly, fun. In Xaverian’s state-of-the-art X-Ploration Center, students tackle problems and explore possibilities in all types of classes, from English to science, and even theology. Whether it’s producing, filming, and editing a video, using the 3D printer to build parts for an engineering challenge, or designing new carbon fiber treads for a competition robot, Xaverian students carry out projects from the earliest problem solving stages through creation and deployment. Sure, it can get messy and there’s bound to be a few hiccups along the way, but through doing, making, and creating, students learn skills that will last a lifetime.

Xaverian’s X-Ploration Center opened in the fall of 2020 and is stocked with all of the tools and tech necessary to bring students’ ideas to life:

  • 3D printers
  • Laser cutter
  • Table, miter, and band saws
