A Historic Day for Xaverian Track and Field

Congratulations to the track and field team on their record-breaking meet!
Our track and field athletes have had an outstanding spring season so far. On April 28, the Hawks competed at the MSTCA Division 1 Relay Meet at Franklin High School. While the team tied for third place in the overall meet with a total of 36 points, Xaverian had one of the best days on the track in school history.

Congratulations to Jordan Wilson '25, Alexander Todorov '26, Mitchell Kisgen '25, and Henry Hasselbeck  '24 for winning the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay events, setting both a new school record and a new meet record. The 4 x 100 team ran 42.32 to break the previous school record of 43.16 set back in 2013 by Dana Pagliuca ’13, Kyle Darrow ’13, Terenze Coleman-Howard ’14, and Conor Biagiotti ’13. They also broke the previous meet record of 42.70 set back in 1991 by Brockton High School. The 4 x 200 team ran 1:28.33 to break the previous school record of 1:31.8 set back in 1999 by John Amara ’99, Tim Donohue ’99, Peter Shean ’00, and Derrick Knight ’99. In addition, they broke the previous meet record of 1:28.94 set in 2022 by Newton North High School. The 4 x 200 Hawks qualified for the championship division at New Balance Nationals.

Xaverian's 4 x 400 team comprised of Justin Briggs '25, Kieran Maguiere '24, Tory Stuckey '24, and Mitchell Kisgen '25 won the 4 x 400 in a new meet record time of 3:20.47, surpassing the previous meet record of 3:22.60 set in 2000 by Xaverian’s own Peter Shean ’00, Chris Bonner ’02, Justin Benabdallah ’02, and Adam Benabdallah ’00. The 4 x 400 team narrowly missed the school record by less than half a second, but still qualified for the championship division at New Balance Nationals.

Congratulations also go out to the high jump relay team and the 4 x 1600 relay team for earning medals at the meet. The high jump relay team made up of Jonathan Monteiro '24, Tory Stuckey '24, and Gabriel Cantave-Callender '24 finished in 4th place. Neilan Fahey '25, Samuel Keith '26, Marc Leimkuehler '24, and Brady Armstrong '24 finished in 5th place in the 4 x 1600 relay.

Additional accolades go to Nicholas Angelini '24 and Dominic Ierardi '25 for qualifying for the state meet in their respective events: the discus and the triple jump.

Congratulations to our Hawks for a historic day on the track! We wish the team luck as they prepare for the championship division at New Balance Nationals later this summer.
