Xaverian Brothers High School is proud to announce Kevin MacDonald ’15 of Norfolk, MA earned a perfect score on the Advanced Placement (AP) Exams last spring.
Kevin was one of two students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Statistics Exam. Approximately 4.5 million AP exams were taken by 2 million U.S. high school students in 2015, and only 322 students earned every point possible on a AP exam, a rare accomplishment.
“To earn this achievement on an AP exam is outstanding,” said Prinicpal Domenic Lalli. “Kevin also received perfect scores on sections of the SATs. He is a brilliant, remarkable young man. All of us at Xaverian are proud of Kevin.”
AP exams are based and reported on a 5-point scale, where a 5 is equivalent to a grade of an A in the corresponding college course. Kevin, who took AP Statistics with Mr. Dennis Donovan, received the top score of 5.
Kevin is now a freshman at the University of Notre Dame. His older brother Ryan MacDonald ’11 also attended Xaverian and Notre Dame.
In 2015, more than 4,100 colleges and universities around the world received AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, and/or consideration in the admissions process, with many colleges and universities in the U.S. offering credit in one or more subjects for qualifying AP scores. Xaverian currently offers 18 AP classes.
