JOHN ROPER ’20 WINS YOUNG ORGAN INITIATIVE SCHOLARSHIP
Xaverian sophomore, John Roper, was one of a handful of winners of a Young Organist Initiative Scholarship following an audition at Boston University’s Marsh Chapel on Saturday October 21, 2017.
According to the American Guild of Organists:
"The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage young pianists and organists who possess musical skill, potential, and work ethic with the opportunity to study organ."
As a winner, John will receive a year of organ lessons, a $100 voucher for music from Spectrum Music in Lexington, MA, as well as membership to the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. In addition, John will be performing on the organ at King’s Chapel in Boston next June.
