On a High Note

We spoke with several of Xaverian’s talented musicians to learn a bit more about their lives, their interests, and the music program at Xaverian.

Kellan Lockhart ’28
Kellan’s musical interest began with the piano, but expanded due to a trip to the Caribbean. There he learned to use a conch shell as a horn, which inspired him to take up the trumpet.

Instruments: Piano and trumpet
Ensembles: Jazz Band and Eighth Grade Band
Other Activities: Tennis and Model UN

Evan Campbell ’27
Evan has been surrounded by music within his family and picked up guitar and saxophone as a result. He says he wants to play guitar for the rest of his life as a hobby, and he hopes to continue in a family guitar making and repair business.

Isaiah Green ’27
Jackson, Metallica, and Nirvana, just recently learned the drums at age 14. He hopes to continue his musical education through Xaverian, including taking AP Music Theory.

Other Activities: Swimming and boxing

Namish Sapru ’26
Namish is a part of many musical groups from the Jazz Band to the Liturgical
Ensemble. He plays both the guitar and the drums, and he hopes to continue to improve!

Ensembles: Jazz Band, Pep Band, Liturgical Ensemble, and Performance Group and House Band at Band Together Music School
Other Activities: Speech and Debate, karate, and baseball

Jad Kiriaki ’25
Jad, captivated by a baby grand piano at home eager for use, decided to learn how to play at the age of seven. His interest only continued from there, as Jad has learned to play several instruments and hopes to learn many more in the future.

Instruments: Piano, glockenspiel, timpani, and guitar
Ensembles: Concert Band, Jazz Band, Rock Band, and a solo rock band with his friends
