• Campus Minister

  
  GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
  Xaverian is seeking applications for a full-time campus minister for the 2025-2026 school year.

   

  QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  The applicant will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to Catholic theology and pastoral ministry. A history of collaborating with other educators and/or pastoral ministers, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing retreats, liturgy and prayer experiences, service programs and immersion trips, and other campus ministry programs to meet the ever-changing needs of students is required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to develop enduring, personal relationships with middle and high school-age young men to accompany them on their journey of faith, and a commitment to be involved in building up the faith life of the school community. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work as a member of a team of campus ministers, and an enthusiasm for the school’s mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School.

• Varsity Head Basketball Coach

  
  GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

  
  Xaverian is seeking applications for a varsity head basketball coach. Xaverian is a member of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association and the Catholic Conference. The varsity head basketball coach is responsible for leading all aspects of our basketball program. They will work closely with our assistant coaches, student-athletes, school personnel, and various support staff to ensure that our program fully serves the needs of our student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the court. The head coach is also a visible member of Xaverian and must represent the best interest of our school community at all times. 

   

  QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Understanding of and appreciation for Xaverian, and support for our Catholic identity and mission as a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School.
  • Knowledge of educational athletics, particularly at the high school level.
  • Appreciation for the appropriate place of athletics, especially in the overall development of adolescents.
  • Prior experience coaching basketball at the high school (or higher) level.
  • In-depth knowledge of all components associated with a high school basketball program, including the college recruitment process.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with various constituent groups, including student athletes, colleagues, parents, and community members.
  • A proven communicator, with skills in oral, written, and electronic communications.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred, although not required.

• FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Mentor

  
  GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  Xaverian is seeking applications for a part-time, seasonal, FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Mentor. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and knowledgeable mentor to support and guide our robotics team during the competition season and off-season. The required hours are weekdays from 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. as well as some weekends for practices, competitions, and events (during the school year and summer). Some travel is required.
  
  

  ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide and mentor students in designing, building, and programming a competitive robot to compete against other area schools in FIRST Tech Challenge competitions.
  • Provide technical assistance in areas such as mechanical design, CAD, electronics, makerspace fabrication, and programming. Supervise students with use of some power tools.
  • Encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership development among team members.
  • Ensure students follow safety guidelines and best practices in the workshop.
  • Assist with outreach and efforts to support team sustainability.

   

  QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills to mentor high school students.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively to teach/encourage students on robot-building projects. 
  • Knowledge in the operation of a small set of power tools (e.g. Dremel, miter saw) and/or a willingness to learn and supervise safe power tool operation.
  • Experience with robotics, engineering, CAD, makerspace fabrication and/or programming (in FTC, FRC, VEX, or similar programs) is preferred. 
  • Experience as a FIRST mentor, coach, or prior-participant is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with high school students in an educational or extracurricular setting is preferred.

  GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
  

  Xaverian is seeking applications for a full-time middle and high school Spanish teacher beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to Spanish at the middle school and high school levels.
  
  

  JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, a history of collaborating with other educators, as well as the ability to maintain and adapt existing curricula to meet the ever-changing needs of students.
  • The ability to use a variety of teaching strategies, technologies, and assessment tools to focus on the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • A demonstrated passion for education. 
  • Proficiency utilizing the Google Suite (Google Classroom, Google Slides, Google Forms, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and an enthusiasm for the school’s mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School.

• Ryken Fellow

  
  GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
  Xaverian is seeking applications for a full-time Ryken Fellow. The Ryken Fellow should be a mission-driven, recent college graduate interested in gaining valuable experience in a middle and secondary school environment. The Ryken Fellowship is a year-long opportunity designed to embody the mission of Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools, which is to “inspire lives of learning, faith, and service.” This fellowship is open to recent alumni of Xaverian and XBSS Schools. The Ryken Fellow plays an integral role in the daily operations of the school, contributing in various capacities such as classroom assistants, proctors, and instructional mentors within the X-Ploration Center, the Office of Community, Culture, and Equity, the Ruth Kennedy Library and Academic Center for Enrichment, the Office of Admissions, the Office of Advancement, and the Office of Strategic Communications. Additionally, there may be opportunities for involvement in athletics, campus ministry, or the fine arts. The structure of the fellowship will be customized in partnership with Xaverian’s administration to align with the school’s needs, while also reflecting the Fellow’s individual interests. This full-time, school-day position begins in September and concludes in June at the close of the academic year.
