Fall 2017 Athletic Dates


UPDATE: The first FXD Football practice will be Thursday, September 7 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Varsity field.


For those interested in pursuing fall athletics at Xaverian, please sign up for the sport of choice in the Xaverian portal. Last day to sign up will be August 11, 2017. 
 
Please follow the steps below:
  • Log in to the Xaverian portal
  • Click your name in the top right of the screen
  • Select Files & Forms
  • Select 2017 Fall Athletic Sign Up
  • Click the REVIEW button to open the form
  • When finished, click the SUBMIT button
Below you will find sport specific information including the head coaches' contact information. Please feel free to contact the coach directly with any questions or concerns.
 
Please know that in order to try out/participate in athletics the following forms must be submitted prior to the first day of the try out:
  • Pre-Participation Head Injury/Concussion Reporting Form for Extracurricular Activities
The Pre-Participation Head Injury/Concussion Reporting Form for Extracurricular Activities can be accessed under the Resources tab in the Xaverian portal in the Athletics board. The completed form should be returned to the Head Coach of the respective sport of participation.
  • Up-to-date Medical (physical) Form (please see note in Medical Forms above)
The Medical form is the physical examination form provided by your doctor’s office. Physical exams may be submitted to the nurse in person, through mail via the US Postal Service, or by Fax to (781) 320-0458. Please do not email as an attachment, as this violates federal and state privacy laws.

Cross Country:
Head Coach: Mr. Bryan Dunn
 
High School students' first day of practice will be Monday, August 28, 2017, on the Varsity Stadium Track.  
  • The first week of practice will be Monday, August 28, 2017 – Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. 
  • Practice on Friday, September 1, 2017 will be from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
  • Practices after Labor Day will be every weekday at 3:00 – 4:45 p.m
FXD (Grade 7 and Grade 8) first day of practice will be Friday, September 8, 2017, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. on the Varsity Stadium Track.
 
Football:
Head Coach: Mr. Al Fornaro
 
Varsity mandatory meeting August 18, 2017 in the Xaverian Theater.
  • Seniors and returning starters report at 2:45 p.m. to the Varsity Basketball Gym for equipment.
  • Juniors report at 3:10 p.m. to the Varsity Basketball Gym for equipment.
  • Sophomores report at 3:30 p.m. to the Varsity Basketball Gym for equipment.
  • All Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors report to the Theater at 4:00 p.m. for a mandatory meeting
  • Camp Schedules can be requested from Coach Fornaro by email.
  • On August 18, 2017 students can be picked up at 7:00 p.m.
 
Freshman: First day to report, August 22, 2017, to the Varsity Gym from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
 
FXD (Grade 7 and Grade 8): An optional (no cost) Football Clinic will be held on August 23 and 24, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Varsity Stadium. Once school is in session, FXD football dates, times, and locations will be forwarded to parents.
 
Golf:
Head Coach: Mr. Gerry Lambert
 
Grades 9 - 12: Mandatory meeting Monday, August 28, 2017 at 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. in the Theater. 
  • Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 31 at 7:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, MA.
FXD (GR7 and GR8): Once school is in session, FXD golf dates, times, and locations will be forwarded to parents.
 
Soccer:

Varsity/JV:  First day of tryouts is Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Varsity Stadium. Freshmen can attend but are not required. Pre-season information can be found at https://sites.google.com/a/xbhs.com/xbhs-soccer/pre-season-schedule.
 
Freshman:  First day of tryouts is Monday, August 28, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Varsity Stadium.
