An Evening with Keith Lockhart, P ’28, ’30
 
On Tuesday, March 31, Xaverian Brothers High School will host An Evening with Keith Lockhart, P '28, '30. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the theater, Mr. Lockhart, Conductor of the Boston Pops, will field questions from students about his career, his education, his experiences, and much more. This promises to be a lively, informative, and engaging panel discussion that you won't want to miss!
 
At 7:00 p.m., immediately following the theater presentation, Keith and Emiley Lockhart, P ’28, ’30, invite you to a special reception in the Sarah M. Bisson Foyer. The gathering will feature hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and an opportunity to connect more personally.

Please note that attendance at the reception is limited; we appreciate your understanding. Pre-registration is required and the deadline to register is March 26.

Keith Lockhart, P '28, '30 is the Conductor of the Boston Pops and Artistic Director of the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina. Since 1995, Lockhart has led the Pops through more than 2,250 performances, 45 national tours, and five international tours. Under his direction, the Pops’ July 4 Fireworks Spectacular draws a live audience of more than half a million, with millions more watching worldwide, and the orchestra has appeared at events ranging from the Super Bowl to the World Series.

At the Brevard Music Center, one of the nation’s premier summer institutes for gifted young musicians, Lockhart guides the artistic vision of a program dedicated to preparing the next generation of performers at the highest level. His leadership reflects a lifelong connection to Brevard, where he first attended as a young musician and now returns to shape its future.

In addition to his work in Boston and Brevard, Lockhart has conducted nearly every major orchestra in North America and many of the world’s leading ensembles. He is recognized for being an innovative thinker both on and off the podium, and for creating accessible and engaging programming. Lockhart holds degrees from Furman University and Carnegie Mellon University. He has the distinction of being the 2006 recipient of the Bob Hope Patriot Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, and was awarded Massachusetts' highest cultural honor in 2017, the Commonwealth Award.
