XAVERIAN ANNOUNCES BROTHER RAY AWARD WINNERS FOR OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER

This October and November, 15 students were selected as recipients of the Brother Raymond Hoyt Awards.

The Brother Raymond Hoyt, C.F.X. Award is named after a much-beloved alumnus, teacher, and assistant principal. Brother Ray, a 1970 Xaverian graduate, served the school for 26 years with enthusiasm, positivity, and humility. In the spirit of Brother Ray’s contribution to the Xaverian community, award recipients demonstrate kindness toward their neighbors, humility in their actions, and service to those in need.

Each month, faculty and staff are asked to nominate any students who they feel meet the award criteria in one of six categories (descriptions below), including humility, kindness, work ethic, generosity, discipleship, and respect. A limited number of the nominees are selected by the administration each month of the school year. This October and November, 15 students were selected as recipients.

“There are countless good deeds performed in our community on a daily basis and this award is one small way to recognize the altruism of our students,” said Michael Nicholson, Principal. He added, “Students arrive at Xaverian, bringing their unique gifts and talents. As we seek to educate the whole person, recognizing positive student behavior has the twofold benefit of affirming the individual in their act and serving as a positive example to our community.”
