The Xaverian varsity baseball team had a big week in Catholic Conference play. The Hawks picked up a 1-0 victory against a powerful BC High team. Senior Marc Cedrone hurled a no-hitter for the Hawks, striking out 11 Eagle batters and walking none. This was the first no-hitter to be thrown by a Xaverian pitcher since 2004. Yesterday, the Hawks traveled to St. John’s Prep to take on another undefeated opponent. They found themselves down 2-1 in the top of the 7th inning and rallied to score 3 runs and win the game 4-2! Xaverian is now 3-0 on the season with two more Catholic Conference games next week They are at Catholic Memorial on Monday at 4:45 p.m. and home versus St. John’s High School on Thursday at home at 4:00 p.m.
The varsity track and field team picked up a solid victory on Wednesday afternoon when they defeated Malden Catholic by a score of 99-37. The Hawks dominated the day in most events. Taking first place in their respective events were the following:

It was a great day for the Hawks, who are now 1-0 on the season and will host BC High next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
The varsity ultimate team went 1-1 on the week, making their record 2-1 on the season. On Monday, the Hawks lost an extremely competitive match to Natick High School here at Xaverian. On Thursday, they responded with 15-1 convincing victory over Abington High School. Ultimate will be back in action next week when they travel to Needham High School on Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. start.
The varsity tennis team fell to 1-2 on the season with two tough losses to BC High and St. John’s Prep. These are two of the top teams in the state and the Hawks have closed the gap. They will look to rebound when they travel to Catholic Memorial on Monday for a 4:00 p.m. start.
The varsity volleyball team lost their first two matches this week by a score of 3-0; the first match was against BC High and then yesterday at St. John’s Prep. The Hawks will look to rebound when they travel to Catholic Memorial on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
The varsity lacrosse team has played three of the top teams in the state thus far this season. This week they performed well at BC High losing a 12-8 game. Thursday they lost to St. John’s Prep 13-4. Next week the Hawks will look to get on track with games against Catholic Memorial Tuesday at home at 6:00 p.m. and at St. John’s High School on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
