Football Team Recognized by the House of Representatives
On Wednesday, March 9, the Xaverian football team was honored at the State House for its outstanding accomplishments.
Special guests of Representative Paul McMurty, Coach Charlie Stevenson and captains Nick Allsop, John Dean, Elijah Pierre, Peter Thorbahn and Coby Tippett were recognized on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The Speaker of the House, Robert DeLeo, announced the team’s athletic and academic accomplishments, which included capturing the Division 1 State championship to the House. Speaker DeLeo personally met with the team, posed for photos and congratulated them.
“We would like to thank Speaker DeLeo and Representative McMurty for inviting us to the State House for the special introduction,” said Stevenson. “It was an exciting experience for myself and our captains which we very much appreciate.”
